DETOX WITH ART THERAPY

By: Noora Rahman

It’s been a little over a year since we first went into quarantine, and I think it is safe to say that this year has brought about a whole new level of stress and anxiety. The goal of my project was to try out 10 proven art therapy projects for reducing stress as a STEM student in order to find the most effective activities. Once figuring out the most effective art therapy projects I wanted to share my findings with other stressed STEM students by creating a bullet journal spread that would lay out a possible schedule for them to follow and a place to write out their stressors. It is important to be in tune with your mental and emotional health, and it is really easy to forget to give yourself breaks. That is why I am hoping my experience with a few art therapy projects and my bullet journal will allow other STEM major students to try out some of these art therapy activities as a way to relieve some of their stress. Feel free to click on any part of my capstone project below!

The theme of the bullet journal is various fruits because according to dietician Meyerowitz, “fruits significantly reduce stress and anxiety.” (Siegel et al., 2019)
